Can we install MapR on a single node and create a virtual cluster? If so, can you direct me to the configuration. Thanks!

You can also use VM's to build up a multi-node cluster that is pretty realistic except for performance.

If you use VMs, remember to specify bridged NICs so that each VM has an IP address accessible from other physical machines. That way, you can log into cluster nodes directly, instead of having to log onto the physical machine to get to them.
